Hi {{first_name}}
Today’s Friday Favorites is a Mother’s Day special. See how our team is celebrating with their moms–or as moms themselves, plus a never-before-seen recipe available for newsletter subscribers only! Ready for you to print and bake before Sunday… 🍰
Blueberry Pie Bars
The star of my Mother's Day picnic basket this year is my Blueberry Pie Bars — a recipe available only to our email subscribers. You won't find it on the Budget Bytes site, and honestly, it might be my most magical creation yet. Download it by clicking below!

My daughter Velvet was named after the heroine of the classic Elizabeth Taylor film National Velvet, so it feels only right that we spend Mother’s Day together watching some horses fly! This weekend, we’re heading to the Iroquois Steeplechase in Nashville, my very first time attending in all my years of calling this city home.
Orange Rolls
On our last beach trip, I made my Orange Rolls, and they’ve become a family favorite. That’s exactly what I would make her this year for the perfect Mother’s Day brunch, because she deserves that and so much more!

My mom has been my biggest inspiration in following my culinary dreams. She spent years teaching Home Economics to middle and high school students, specializing in culinary arts and child development, and she made sure we always had a homemade meal on the table no matter what.
That love and care she put into cooking is exactly where my passion in the kitchen began.
Butter Chicken
Every Mother’s Day we skip the long lines at restaurants, and of course, I make a special meal just for her. She almost always requests our Budget Bytes Butter Chicken, which is a hit with the whole family. With bold flavors, warm spices, and an irresistible creamy tomato sauce, I’m happy to make this for one of the most important women in my life.

My love of cooking came from my mom, who’s an amazing home chef.
Strawberry Chicken Salad
My Mom’s latest obsession is Jess’s Strawberry Chicken Salad, and honestly, it's the perfect Mother's Day weekend lunch!
I'm so lucky that my two biggest cheerleaders in life are my mom and my daughter. They never miss a chance to tell everyone how proud they are of me, and I truly don't take that for granted.
Chicken Kabobs
This year my husband is planning to make Jess’s Chicken Kabobs recipe on the grill while I toss together Melissa’s Summer Lentil Salad, and we’ll all hang out on the back deck with the dogs (and maybe a cocktail or two). Simple and relaxed, my favorite kind of day! ☀️

I love a low-key Mother’s Day with no crowds, just an easy time at home with my family. With one son graduating from college this month and one about to graduate from high school, time together feels even more special.
Here's to the moms, the mother figures, and everyone who's ever stretched a grocery budget to feed the people they love. We see you, and we're cheering you on.
However you celebrate this year, we hope there's a little something delicious on the table and someone you love across from you.
Until next time, happy cooking!
